Engagement Survey Questions

Participants will answer each question on a five-point scale, from "strongly agree" to "strongly disagree."

  1. How satisfied are you with your organization as a place to work?
  2. I know what is expected of me at work.
  3. I have the materials and equipment I need to do my work right.
  4. At work, I have the opportunity to do what I do best every day.
  5. In the last seven days, I have received recognition or praise for doing good work.
  6. My supervisor, or someone at work, seems to care about me as a person.
  7. There is someone at work who encourages my development.
  8. At work, my opinions seem to count.
  9. The mission or purpose of my organization makes me feel my job is important.
  10. My colleagues or fellow employees are committed to doing quality work.
  11. I have a best friend at work.
  12. In the last six months, someone at work has talked to me about my progress.
  13. This last year, I have had opportunities at work to learn and grow.
  14. At work, I am treated with respect.
  15. My organization cares about my overall wellbeing.
  16. I have received meaningful feedback in the last week.
  17. I can handle the stress I experience on a day-to-day basis in my workplace.
  18. I understand the University of Oregonʼs vision and strategic priorities.
  19. I am willing to give my best effort to help the UO be successful.
  20. I plan to be working at the UO one year from now.
  21. I participate in professional development opportunities offered by the university.
  22. I believe my unit leadership strives to take action to correct incidents of disrespect and/or misconduct when they occur.
  23. There are opportunities for me to grow in my career within this organization.
  24. My work experience at the UO is helping me to prepare for the career I want post graduation. (Graduate employees only)
